What
is Evidence Based Research?
Evidence Based Research, Inc. (EBR) is dedicated to the proposition
that decision making is best supported by the appropriate balance
of sound theory and relevant empirical evidence. Since the company’s
founding in 1987, it has provided policy makers and their staffs
in government, business, and other organizations with clear, concise,
and insightful analyses of important issues and the capability to
stay abreast of those issues over time, as well as to look ahead
and shape key features of the future.
EBR addresses problems from all over the globe. The more than 100
projects completed have ranged from creating systems to measure
political and economic reform and analyzing international narcotics
interdiction, to designing improved systems for decision making
under stress, measuring mental "images," and improving the ability
of coalition forces to provide disaster relief and peacekeeping
services.
Whatever the topic, the EBR team first ensures that it is fully
aware of relevant existing research and knowledge. The team assumes
that serious issues will have been addressed before, and that time
and money can be saved by harvesting the best of that prior work.
Combined with the creative efforts of EBR’s staff, this knowledge
is used to structure the problem correctly and determine what evidence
is needed, what analyses should be performed, and what products
are required.
