DIVISION
EXPERTISE
The Decision Systems Division consists of three core
business areas:
War Room Designs and Implementation
EBR designs optimized infostructures (i.e. war rooms,
operations centers, board and situation rooms) to facilitate
and manage information in time-sensitive environments,
including the collection, analysis and dissemination
of intelligence and information. The EBR approach called
War Room Team-Based Analysis provides for a new analytical
paradigm for rapidly discerning trends and detecting
anomalies thus leading to knowledge discovery. It furnishes
a quick and low cost capability to "connect the dots".
This is achieved through the custom integration of "off
the shelf" tools that are configured to mirror the decisionmaking
or analytical process and facilitate the flow of information.
War Room Team-Based Analysis is based on two premises.
The first is that collaborative teams of domain subject
matter analysts working in conjunction with information
technologists can often best accomplish complex analytical
tasks supporting key decisions. Tool experts focus on
configuring the tools for the collection, processing
and formatting of the data. Powerful tools, which the
typical analyst does not have the IT skill set to utilize,
can thus be incorporated. The analysts on the team are
able to focus more on the actual analysis and less on
the collection and filtering of information. Through
iterative interactions of analysis and IT an optimized
tool suite can be quickly developed and fielded. The
second premise is that in a team-based setting, not
one tool or technology will satisfy all the analytical
needs. Complex analytical processes or decisions require
multiple tools to facilitate information flow. So the
IT component of the team works closely with the analysts
to configure and integrate the optimal tool suite to
support the analytical effort.
Effective collaboration includes the mix of people,
tools, and process. This approach has produced dramatic
results for both government and commercial applications
including intelligence, counterintelligence, counter
terrorism, competitive intelligence, and market research
and investment decision-making.
Open Source Collection and Analysis Services
Utilizing EBR's own war room and customized suite of
tools, EBR collects information from open sources and
synthesizes databases provided by the client in order
to rapidly deliver actionable intelligence tailored
to the client's specific needs. EBR's war room incorporates
state of-the-art automated techniques including intelligent
agents, as well as proficient, intelligent and experienced
analysts. in the collection and analysis of "Open Source"
information.
This approach incorporates a unique methodology and
suite of tools for data mining and collection. It provides
the ability to map business and analytical processes
related to the specific collection requirements, and
then marry those processes with information gathering
and data mining tools to enhance their implementation.
It utilizes EBR's expertise and proficiency in the design,
implementation, and use of integrated tool suites for
data mining. In concert with the Government, EBR will
develop an ontology, key indicators, and optimal search
strategy. EBR will utilize its team-based approach comprised
of information technologists and analysts working in
tandem utilizing an integrated suite of tools optimized
for highly automated collection.
Collaboration and Evaluation Consulting and Tool
Development
EBR provides a scientificly rigorous-based approach
to understanding group dynamics and providing practical
solutions to team problems and enhancing effectiveness.
EBR's Collaboration Advizor tool quickly identifies
the causes of problems and suggests ways for the team
to improve its ability to work together.
