Trust/Distrust & Diversity

Trust is an abstract concept, dealing with reliance (on character, ability, strength or truth) of someone or something, or a dependence on something future or contingent. (Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary. 2009) Trust is typically thought of as an inter-personal concept, but can also be characterized more broadly to include collections of people and non-human entities as well. In addition to the variety of entities that can be involved in trust relationships, there are a number of different kinds of trust, as well as different levels at which trust-related phenomena occur and can be observed.

EBR has developed an experimentation platform (ELICIT) for the CCRP which is designed to investigate information sharing, collaboration, and trust. We have partnered with academia on several efforts to explore trust and identify trust indicators.
